For horses under transportation and exercise stress, or for support of circulation to the hooves. Suggested minimum trial period is 1 week of consistent use.
Jiaogulan (Gynostemma pentaphyllum) is a woody vine native to southern China. It is widely used as a tea or vegetable by natives of this area, and is well accepted by horses. Jiaogulan can help support normal immune responses, muscular function, circulation and help keep airways open.
Jiaogulan has potent antioxidant potential via increased levels of the enzyme Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), which also supports immune system cells. Jiaogulan supports homeostasis, normal cellular function and interaction between organ systems, and normal organ functioning when horses are under stress.
Support for cardiovascular health
Research has also shown that Jiaogulan strongly supports activity of the eNOS enzyme system, which stands for endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase. This enzyme resides in the lining of blood vessels. It synthesizes Nitric Oxide, a simple gas that is a potent dilating agent. In humans, supporting Nitric Oxide production is how Jiaogulan contributes to cardiovascular health.
In horses, it supports circulation in the feet, which nourishes the tissue, encourages hoof growth.
Jiaogulan is very palatable and readily accepted by horses. It is also economical, with servings as small as 2000 to 8000 mg typically effective.
